[NEWS] ‘Rooftop Prince’ sold to Japan at high price

Starring JYJ’s Park Yoochun and Han Ji Min, the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Rooftop Prince” has been sold to Japan at a high price, commanding up to USD$200,000 per episode. (Approx 220 million yen)

On April 20th, the SBS drama overseas division chief Kim Yong Seob said, “This drama has gained a lot of support overseas, and the Japanese side has paid a high price to import the show, approximately US$200,000 per episode.”

Also, he said, “A cable broadcast station in Singapore will start airing the drama on April 25, and will also be airing news related to the actors and the drama.”

“Rooftop Prince” is written by the famous screenplay writer Lee Hui Myung, his first big project in 6 years, and has been capturing a lot of attention from the audiences. The drama is a romantic comedy with a mysterious feel, and has gradually gained much love with its own unique style.

It tells the story of how the Joseon crown prince Lee Gak (played by Park Yoochun) travels 300 years in the future and comes to modern day Seoul after losing his crown princess (played by Jung Yoomi). Here, he falls in love with a girl whom he could not have loved in the past.
