Actress Kim Tae Hee talked about relationship with Rain for the first time in a public event.
On March 11th, a press conference for new SBS drama ‘Jang Ok Jung’ was held at SBS Ilsan Production Center, and Kim Tae Hee talked about her boyfriend, Rain.
The actress shared, “Currently we are at the stage where we are getting to know each other. Right now, my main focus is on the drama. I was very worried because the news broke out so close to the filming and that I might have given negative effects to the drama.”
Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hee will be casting as the main character in ‘Jang Ok Jung’, and the drama will premiere in April after the conclusion of ‘King of Ambition’.

Singer Rain, who is serving his mandatory military service, will appear in a documentary about the defense industry entitled "Defense Report 2012" on TV Chosun.
Rain will be featured in several scenes at the start and end of the program, which will be divided into three parts and will air on Saturdays at 11 PM from this weekend.
"We cast Rain because we thought it would be more effective for the program that an active-duty soldier introduces weapons," TV Chosun said Wednesday.
The documentary looks into Korea’s weapon systems and how they compare to other countries'. It also investigates ways to develop the nation's defense industry.
Singer Rain, who currently serves as a PR agent for the Defense Media Agency, attended the ceremony held at the Military Manpower Administration on April 10 where he was appointed a new position as the PR ambassador for the military.
The ambassador role was previously taken up by Lee Dong Gun and Seo Ji Seok. “I will probably play a small role, but I′ll work hard to let people know about the changed conscription administration and have those who served their duties be more looked up to and honored in society”, said Rain.
As the Korean military’s PR ambassador, the singer will take part in various events and festivals to be held for the soldiers, including events for the new recruits.
At the event, attended by a throng of press, Rain was asked the question of whether he had any plans to undergo surgery for double eyelids.
“I wouldn’t say never. I think I’ll seriously think on it when I get older,” said the singer.
Rain wont be included in the list of candidates for the 100 most influential people of the world poll from Time Magazine this 2012. Although the reason for why he wont be included in the poll is unknown perhaps it was influence by his ongoing hiatus for he is currently serving his 2 year mandatory military service.
The famous South Korean star turned Hollywood actor made it three times at the Poll and twice in the actual magazine's list for the 100 Most Influential People of the world. He first made it in 2006 and in 2007 he also topped the poll but not the actual list and in 2011 he topped the list for 100 Most influential People of the World.

Singer Rain has returned on the stage for the first time in Korea since his military enlistment.

The singer took off his military uniform and showcased an impressive performance with his powerful dance moves, displaying his skills did not get rusty even during his enlistment.
"2012 Seoul Peace Music Awards" also featured performances from Park Hyo Shin, Insoonie, Maya, and more. The event will be aired on KBS on April 1.

MBLAQ, who drew much attention as idol group created by singer Rain, has revealed their rough training process before debut.
On the recent recording for jTBC's "Park Kyung Lim's Oh! Happy Day", MBLAQ members revealed Rain's strict rehearsal methods.
The members recalled the rigorous training they underwent during their trainee days. They said, "Back then and even now, we couldn’t match Rain sunbae’s stamina and spirit." G.O added, "We practiced for 14-15 hours a day but he didn’t let us drink even a single glass of water."
Seung Ho continued, "However, Rain sunbae also danced with us and didn't drink water so we couldn't even complain."
In addition, the members revealed about not turning on the air conditioner even in the hot summer days. G.O commented, "I think Rain sunbae has a lot of water inside his body," and had everyone break into a laughter.

Rain known for his masculine body did not fall short on his military training too and he is also quite popular among the soldiers for his exceptional achievements as a soldier. It was revealed that Rain can complete 72 Push-ups, 82 Sit-ups in 2 minutes and can run 3 km in less than 12 minutes and 3 seconds.

Korean pop singer and actor Rain will serve as what the military has dubbed an "entertainment soldier" during the remaining period of his mandatory two years of military service, a government agency in charge of publicizing the military said Friday.
Rain will be assigned to a new group within the military that provides programming for TV and radio broadcasts next month, the Defense Media Agency said.
He will then appear in television and radio programs of the Korean Forces Network, a broadcaster run by the defense ministry to boost morale of soldiers, and take part in weekly concert tours to military units across the country, it added.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is one of the most popular male celebrities in Korea and a well-known star in other Asian nations.
The 30-year-old singer joined the military last October and was originally set to serve as an assistant instructor of recruits at a military boot camp located in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, since he wanted to be an active-duty soldier.

Hallyu star Rain, who is currently undertaking his national military service, is set to transfer into the Korean Army’s public relations division in Yongsan District, central Seoul. Until now, Rain, who enlisted back in October of last year, has undertaken training at Yeonchun district in Gyeonggi province and has served the nation as an assistant trainer.
Although the erstwhile singer maintains that he was happy in his post, the Army corps expressed its desire to see him as a celebrity soldier serving in the public relations division. Other stars to have served in the division are entertainer Boom, and actor Lee Joon-gi who was discharged on Feb. 16. Lee used to host a radio program for military personnel called “Comfort Train” and there are speculations that Rain will step up to take over the show.
“We do not currently know when Rain will join the public relations branch or what kind of work he will be assigned to at this stage,” said a representative from the Army.
Meanwhile Rain will be discharged from the army on July 10 of next year.

Rain has had a vacation from the Army. His first since he was conscripted, the vacation was kept away from the media until the Hallyu singer returned to the barracks. A representative from the Army told Sports Hankook that “Private Jung Ji-hoon was on vacation from February 9 until February 16, having been awarded some extra vacation time on top of his five days leave he accrued for his 100 days in the Army.”
On his first vacation, Rain spent the time at home, indulging in the food he craves as well as spending time with close friends and family members. “He did what every serviceman does on their first break, just enjoying home-cooked meals and resting,” said a representative of the entertainer.
It was assumed that Rain kept an extra low profile, never setting a foot outside his front door while on break.
Rain started his national military service on October 11 last year and due to his excellent state of health and fitness was accepted in the Special Forces.

Hallyu stars Rain and Han Jin Woo have been selected to become the faces of Chinese cosmetics brand JVJQ. The two have already taken part in the shoot for the advertisement, Han's agency, Tovis Media, said yesterday.
"The advertisement was shot in advance, before Rain entered into military service", Tovis Media said.
Han talked about what it was like being on set with the Hallyu superstar.
"It was a bit awkward assuming a lovers' pose with Rain, but he really went out of his way to make me feel at ease, and he was such a good leader", she said. "Overall, I had a great time shooting the advertisement".
Han won the Miss Korea pageant for Koreans who live in China back in 2007. Since then, she has starred in TV programs such as "Infinite Girls" (2010-12) and "Gyeback" (2011), as well as the movie "Jungle Fish 2" (2010).
Rain began his military service in October of last year. The Hallyu star staged a farewell concert just before he went into the Army.

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) recently conducted a survey on the brand image of South Korea among young people in Europe. They surveyed 1208 youths, aged 18-30 years old, in five major European cities -- London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan and Budapest.
When asked about what comes to mind they think of South Korea, the respondents answered North Korea (9%), K-Pop (6.9%) and Seoul (6.5%). Others mentioned war, Samsung, kimchi, the 2002 FIFA World Cup and taekwondo.
When asked about K-pop singers, the respondents cited BIGBANG (8.8%), BEAST (5.8%), Girls Generation (5.5%), Dong Bang Shinki (3.3%) and Rain (3.0%).
Awareness of South Korea and a preference for Korean culture and the country itself were highest in Hungary, followed by France, Italy, Britain and Germany.

MBLAQ, in a recent interview while recording their appearance on Mnet MIC, revealed their thoughts about their sunbae and president, singer Rain.
MBLAQ said, "We have always respected Rain very much. He is an outstanding all-rounded artist. In the very beginning, we prepared for our debut, holding him as our goal toward success, but we found that after we debuted, even though we didn't smear Rain's name, but we are really too far away from him.
When asked about which member was most popular in different countries, G.O said, "Lee Joon is very popular in Japan. Mir, maybe because he looks like Ronaldo*, is very popular in Brazil. Seungho and Thunder are very popular in Taiwan and Thailand, as for milky-skinned me, I'm popular all around the world."

Rain was listed under MTV's the Best Men's Fashion of 2011. A picture of him wearing a stylish jacket and shoes was featured on the music channel's official website. He was honored alongside the likes of tween heartthrob Justin Bieber, actor Ryan Gosling, Will Smith, and Smith's son Jaydon Smith.
