[News] IU denies plastic surgery rumors

A screen capture of IU from a TV show back in 2010 has recently surfaced online, generating hot debates amongst netizens about whether IU has had cosmetic surgery since then.

Meanwhile the teenage star’s agency announced on February 20 that she has had not had any work done.

“IU is as human as you and I. Sometimes she looks good, sometimes she doesn’t. On the show she happened to wear a lot more make-up than usual and that’s why she looks different. There’s nothing more to say,” said a representative from Loen Entertainment.

In the screen capture, IU can be seen on the Mnet show “Teenager Popular Song White Paper” looking remarkably different from her current self. The IU of two years ago was wearing dark eye make-up and sporting an older, more mature fashion – at least according to this picture.

Back in January when speculations about IU’s possible cosmetic surgery surfaced, producer from Loen Entertainment used his Twitter account to vent his anger.

“Not sure why people keep saying IU has had surgery. She may be the only one in this industry to have never had work done. If you keep insisting, we may take legal actions.”
