[Interview] TEEN TOP 1st place public promise “We want to have a hug session with the fans”!
TEEN TOP is the group that is named frequently as the ‘in-trend idols’ recently. ‘Crazy’ which was produced by hit producer Brave Brothers, has had great response and it has qualified as 1st place contender.
TEEN TOP shook their heads when we told them that their popularity is increasing greatly. We asked them if they felt the rise in popularity and Chunji replied “We felt it for the first time yesterday (1st February). Many fans had gathered at our autograph session at Gwangju yesterday and the police came. I think amongst all the autograph sessions we’ve had, that was the most explosive reception.”
Even though they all know it deep down (that their popularity is rising), we think that it was a conventional reply. Although we asked the same question again, they shook their hands and said “We really can’t feel it. We only go to the dormitory, the broadcasting stations and practice room usually; we don’t go out so we can’t really feel it”
Many girl groups have expressed their affection for TEEN TOP and even the Brave Brothers. TEEN TOP spoke of their first impression of Brave Brothers “We were scared of him initially but as we worked together he is really friendly” When we told that Brave Brothers says that he’s paying attention to you guys, they said “We’re really thankful”
Recently TEEN TOP has been 1st place contenders on Mnet Mcountdown for 2 consecutive weeks. This is the best result they have achieved since their debut. TEEN TOP showed their anticipation “We’re still looking forward to the 1st place. Many people around us have been telling us that we’ll be able to get 1st this week. A fan said that she dreamt about us getting 1st and it’ll be really great if it comes true”
We asked them about their public promise when they win 1st. Niel hesitated for a moment and said “Last week as public promise, we said we’ll give chocolate milk to everyone who has voted for us. But I think that needs to be changed.” They carefully mention about the hug session “If we win 1st this week, we want to have a hug session with the fans who come for the public broadcast”
