This 2012, Solo artists will be leading the Hallyu wave in Japan. These solo artists are IU, Kim Hyun Joong and Lee Sung Gi.

SNSD and KARA embarked the most successful debut in Japan last year and last year it was a total girl group invasion in Japan. However, it will be different this year as the Hallyu wave will be bringing a different genre of kpop artists.

Japan is already excited for IU's Japan debut. IU recently had a fan meeting in Japan where she performed and met with her Japanese fans on stage for the first time. After her successful album releases in Korea, Looks like things are heating up for IU's debut in Japan. Japan has been very curious on the solo singer as she shows off a different vibe. She's young and fresh and she also has impeccable vocal skills, clearly Japan has set high expectations for her.

IU will be releasing a Japan version of her hit song "Good Day" and this will be her first step for her full fledged promotions in Japan this 2012.

Last year, Kim Hyun Joong released his first solo albums "breakdown" and "LuckY" which exceeded over 100,000 album sales and earning him the title of a top selling solo artist and on the 25th of January, he will official release his first single in Japan.

Kim Hyun Joong has been a hallyu star since his activities with SS501, especially for his drama "Boys over flowers" which was a hit all over Asia. His debut single "Kiss Kiss" was ranked first on a mobile chart on Japan and with his charms and music, Japan is also pretty hyped up for Kim Hyun Joong.

He will be embarking on his debut single promotions this end of the month as he is expected to perform on Music Station on the 27th of January.

The Nation's brother Lee Seung Gi has also proved his popularity all over Asia. On the 21st Seoul Music Awards, the solo singer was awarded a bonsang and this coming March, Lee Seung Gi will be flying to Japan to kick start his Japan debut as well.

Lee Seung Gi recently had his year end concert and fans not only from Korea preached the solo singer for his vocal abilities and stage performance. Veteran singers from Japan also praised him and showed their support for Lee Seung Gi's upcoming Japan debut.

With the previous years being dominated by boy and girl groups as the leaders of the Hallyu wave in Japan, this year will be different as the hallyu wave will showcase it's solo singers. With their upcoming Japan debut, hopefully their Japan advancement will also be a success
