Nichkhun of 2PM has received the glorious grand prize from the ‘Kerd Awards’ in Thailand.
Kerd Awards is the award hosted by Thailand’s famous entertainer and the talk show host ‘Woody’.
Last March 30th, among many press crowds and Thai celebrities attended, the Kerd Awards, which was hosted at the Crystal Design Center, has had the most influential nominees to receive prizes from each of the 7 field including music and comedy, etc., (Born to grasp the main scene, Born to be famous, Born to be a comedian, Born to be pop, Born to be giver, Born to be together, Born to be hot) and Nichkhun has received the grand prize gloriously as the most influential person in Thailand.
According to the local representative, he has shown his surprises to see “the popular celebrities gathered together in one place as it is the rare occasion to happen.” Further, as to support Nichkhun, the whole family including his grandmother, mother, aunt, etc. has come and made out such a sweet scene for people to watch.
Nichkhun has said that “it is glorious enough to be a nominee, but can’t believe the fact that the grand prize was awarded. It’s just like a dream.” He continued on by saying that he would put his effort even more for the future and perform shamelessly to everyone. Also he thanked everyone for loving him and supporting him from the bottom of his heart.
Meanwhile, 2PM is facing the Budokan 6 Days concert at the end of May.

Recently, 2PM's Thai member Nickhun was featured in Arena Home magazine. But who knows that even he's cheerful, handsome, kind and has everything, he still has burdens. You'll know what I'm talking about after reading his interview with Arena Homme below.
DIORAMA
Handsome and cool, but kind too. Yet Nichkhun also has his burdens.
Interviewer: People seem to only talk about your appearance.
Nichkhun: Haha. I can't really complain, but I do want to show a different side of me. As a singer, and especially as an idol, I can only show a premeditated image. I want to prove that there's more to me. So I'm trying acting, as through acting I can try to portray different characters.
Interviewer: Being an idol must get frustrating. There must be things you have to keep quiet about.
Nichkhun: It's true, but as an idol you have to watch what you say carefully. I have to be careful of my actions more too, as sometimes I can't not get irritated. I want to show a natural side of me, an honest side, but those sort of situations are understandable. I can't complain.
Interviewer: When annoyed, you must know how best to dissipate that feeling too.
Nichkhun: Yes, but I'm not the type to keep it inside. I think of it is work, as something that I have to bear. Actually, I worry about the future a lot. As I'm still young and people are interested in me, I want to work hard now and play later. That's what I think.
Interviewer: What does Nichkhun's "utopia" look like?
Nichkhun: It mostly involves family. If you want to get married and have kids you need money, so I want to earn lots of money so my family can live comfortably. I want to make them happy. When I think about that, my mood brightens and even when I'm working I feel happy.
Interviewer: Why does music not feature much in your interviews?
Nichkhun: Actually when I was young my dream wasn't to be a singer. I was so "shy" that I couldn't even speak in front of people, so of course singing was totally out of the question. But I ended up in 2PM. At the beginning, I was worse than everybody else. Because I was so embarrassed about that I worked really hard and the more I learnt, the more confident I grew.
Interviewer: So what sort of music do you usually listen to?
Nichkhun: I don't really listen to hip hop. I mostly listen to romantic ballads; lately I've been listening to a lot of Michael Bublé. His voice is really "sweet". I also really like jazz, songs like "The Way You Look Tonight". In terms of dance music…someone like Justin Timberlake? I like listening to relaxing music.
Interviewer: So, how come all the girls like Nichkhun?
Nichkhun: I can't really say. Hahaha. This is a bit silly but could it be just because of my appearance? Its not because I can speak Korean well, or that I'm really interesting on TV shows…but actually I'm more confident in my sincere personality than my appearance. I'll do anything for people that I'm close to.
Interviewer: Are you the "all-in" type?
Nichkhun: Yes. If I fall in love, I fall deeply.
Interviewer: That can be dangerous.
Nichkhun: Actually I'm the same with work, too. I'm surprisingly serious when I'm working.
Interviewer: Really? When you're on TV you seem so cute?
Nichkhun: There's a bit of a difference [between the real Nichkhun and the Nichkhun we see on TV]. When you're on TV, you have to talk a lot, but I still can't speak Korean very fast. Its especially difficult when I'm on TV. I start gesticulating with my body without realizing. Its like a kind of body language. So that's why I sometimes look cute. And people want idols to look cute. Occasionally MC's make me wink and pretend to be cute, but I don't really do that sort of thing. I don't really like being cute; I'd rather show a cool, manly image. But because my Korean is still poor I can't do anything but express myself on TV shows in a cute way.
Interviewer: You're already 25 years old [in Korean age], which is only 3 years before the reserve army cut-off age. When do you feel the most manly?
Nichkhun: When I'm exercising. I play sports seriously. When I was on "We Got Married", I also only showed my sweet side. That was a shame. If I had shown my competitive and serious side, people would have looked at me differently.
Interviewer: True. You're so kind, it's hard to imagine a twisted version of you. That sort of character can become wearisome.
Nichkhun: Thus its more dangerous. I have to be more vigilant of what I do and what I say, but on the other hand I express myself like Taecyeon. At the beginning I couldn't say much so I was really quiet; compared to the other members, I seemed kinder. But changing your character in one go is hard. I want to change it gradually, bit by bit. With acting, you can show a different side of yourself.
Interviewer: What sort of roles do you want to play?
Nichkhun: I kinda want to play a bad guy. Not quite a villain, but like a "bad boy" or a "playboy". It'd be cool if I could do something like Won Bin in "Ahjussi".
Interviewer: I've heard that's kind of tough?
Nichkhun: Haha, it is?
Interviewer: As you're in your mid-twenties, do you find living alone easy?
Nichkhun: Of course its better to be with your family. If I go to Thailand for our schedule, usually my mother comes to see me. I also eat with my family after finishing work too. So it seems like I get to see my family more than the other members. Their parents are in Korea, but it seems like they're not able to come and see them that often. But because I live abroad, when I go back to Thailand my parents come and see me.
Interviewer: You seem more mature compared to the other members. As you've been living independently from a young age, did you mature early on?
Nichkhun: When I was younger, I didn't listen to my parents and caused them a lot of heartache because I didn't do what they told me. But then when I was 12, I went to study abroad in New Zealand. It was a boarding school. As I was living alone overseas, I did a lot of stupid things. But now as I'm getting older I've realised; my parents were always right.
Interviewer: On an average day, how do you relax?
Nichkhun: I play games on my iPad, read books…at the moment I'm reading Paulo Coelho's "Life". It's a great book. It's short but its really good. It makes you think a lot. It's more like exercising than reading.
Interviewer: Are there times when you really feel like an adult?
Nichkhun: Sometimes when I'm working, I go a bit overboard because I'm so serious when I'm alone. But when I think of the staff members, I can't be like that. They are very tired, so its much harder for them. When we're there, if we pull pranks and play around it makes things more difficult for them. We want to finish quickly, and if we do the staff will be able to rest so I try and take it seriously.
Interviewer: Do you feel a responsibility over others?
Nichkhun: At first I used to just think of myself, but now I consider others more. So now I play around a bit more appropriately. We also talk amongst the members about how we have to greet everyone well and finish our work quickly.
Interviewer: You seem like you keep to your own principles.
Nichkhun: Umm…it depends on the situation. But I do have a sense of responsibility. When we're filming advertisements, the directors pay a lot of money to hire us and so we have to be accountable for that. We have to work hard. It's not just about the money; they're trusting in us, so we have to repay them for that.
Interviewer: You're as sincere as I expected. But have you ever lied or done any sneaky behaviour?
Nichkhun: Umm, nowadays not really. But when I was younger I did a lot, as I was living far away from my parents. Actually, there were a lot of instances. Haha. When I was at school, if you couldn't attend that day you had to submit an explanation as to why you weren't there. You had to get the signature of your parents/guardian, but I would sign it and get my friend to submit it.
Interviewer: That doesn't seem too bad.
Nichkhun: Oh, hahaha. There were other things apart from that. But I wasn't really a bad kid. I couldn't really do much as my parents would be disappointed in me.
Interviewer: What are you focusing on nowadays?
Nichkhun: Mainly my health. And also being more professional with my work. As time goes on, your appearance changes. I don't worry about wrinkles; you can't help looking your age. But I hope I never receive any bad press as I get older. In order to keep getting work 10 years down the line, I have to be careful of what I do now.
Interviewer: You're worrying too much; in 10 years time you'll only be 35 years old. You'll probably be in your prime at that time.
Nichkhun: That could be true, but I don't really know how things will pan out. It's important to never get on the wrong side of people. I always want to give people a good impression.
Interviewer: What sort of image do you want to have in the future?
Nichkhun: Umm…I want to have wrinkles like Jude Law, and to be as cool and to have the same gentle image as George Clooney. Or a man who's as kind as my father. A good husband, a good son. I just want to be a good person.
Interviewer: Does that mean you hope to get married within the next 10 years?
Nichkhun: Definitely, of course.

Nichkhun Horvejkul, the Thai member of the South Korean boy group 2PM, has been approached to join Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's upcoming "roadshow" to South Korea, a source said yesterday.
There were no other details from Government House. Nichkhun, who is also a model and actor, could not be reached to comment on the matter.
Yingluck, who recently led her government's first "roadshow" to Japan, is set to make her official visit to South Korea from Saturday until next Tuesday (March 24-27). She'll be aiming to restore confidence among South Korean investors following last year's flood crisis. The PM also is scheduled to attend the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul with leaders from 51 other countries. She'll meet with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak for discussions on bilateral trade, investment and cooperation on agriculture, military, labor and tourism.
Yingluck is also expected to meet top figures in South Korea's public and private sectors.

Check out the interview of 2PM's Nickhun in Mitsubishi Mirage Press Conference.
Your feelings on coming back to Thailand again.
After visiting for the CF filming not long ago I’m back again in such a short time. It’s good to feel the warmth here.
Your feelings after being chosen as the presenter.
I’m elated and proud to become the presenter for the first time. It is an eco-car, easy to drive, efficient use of fuel, reduce climate change. It’s like if you're driving a good quality car you're also helping the world. It is a kind of a good young generation’s thinking to not only want just an expensive car but also a functional, spacious car and more importantly contribute to helping our world.
Like a young generation that will help shape our world for the better, like you?
Probably something like that (laughs).
Two weeks ago you came to film Mirage’s CF, how was the atmosphere then?
If you watch the CF there’ll be scenes where I go to the beach, playing basketball and shopping. But all of those were CG because I only had one day to film. I had to go to the locations they prepared and the rest was CG. I’m disappointed for not going to the beach. But it was a different atmosphere that I’ve never experienced before. The director’s technique was quite different from what I’ve seen before too. When I saw the final CF I was shocked that it turned out very well that way. I was excited.
Your dream car.
First thing is the oil consumption, how many KM per litre. When I was younger petrol costed just 20 Baht per litre. Since it is much more expensive now I have to think about that first. I like cars that travel a long way for a small amount of fuel. And there’s the climate change issue too nowaday and I’m sad when I see the news. This eco-car can travel 22KM per litre of oil while most cars can only travel 10KM. And that’s why this car suits me most. There’s also a full entertainment function in the car. The car seems small right? But actually the rear is large and can fit plenty of stuff. At first I thought the car won’t fit me but actually it’s very comfortable inside.
Do you drive in Korea?
Only cars that they give me to drive (laughs).
If you were to take this car to Korea where would you drive it?
I’d like to go to Busan because I love the sea and one of the members is from Busan too. I’d like to eat the raw fish and visit the beach. It would be fun.
Who would you go with?
With the members would be nice. Let’s not create any rumour (laughs). I’m going to drive my friends home because they miss their parents (laughs).
You are very close to you members and each have nicknames.
Each of us has a nickname. Mine is ‘grandpa’, not so strict but I like to tell them to go to bed early and wake them up. I go to bed and wake up early and they accuse me of being old, like a haraboji (grandpa) (laughs). I have a similar mindset to my father, quite traditional. At dinner I’d have things that are nutritious, I don’t like loud noises. Like when they make loud noises in our dorm I’d remind them to be quieter to not bother the people below us. Things like these.
You have many appearances whether it’s movie or being a presenter. How do you deal with the stress?
I just rest by watching a film or listening to music. Thai fans would send me DVD of Thai films and I’d download them on to my computer tablet and watch them later. The latest thing I watched was Stand Alone 9 (a standup comedy) and it was stress relieving. Not sure if I was learning a language or something but it was fun (the show creates many new ‘teenage' words).
If Stand Alone 10 is playing?
I’d love to see it but I have no time to come back. I’d appreciate if the fans can send me that one too.
Who would be the first person on your Mitsubishi car?
My parents, safe answer (laughs). Also grandma and aunty. Since I was young my parents always drive me places. If I have a car I’d like to drive them to the sea, go to Huahin. I like the sea, it’s peaceful. The only sound is the sound of the waves, which makes me feel at ease.
Where in Thailand would you drive 2PM?
Phuket. They keep complaining why they don’t have a chance to go to Phuket. When I showed them my Thai Tourism CF they really liked it. I think the whole world likes Phuket. I told my friends that there’re many beautiful places in Thailand, I hope to take them. I hope to take them (repeated and laughing).
You have a lot of Thai fans and they really love you. Where would you take them to in Korea?
The fans probably wouldn’t want to go to crowded places but instead somewhere quiet with me (laughs). How about I take them to the Han river. There’re parks nearby where people would exercise. Below the bridge there’s a beautiful park, very impressive. You’ll see many couples there (laughs).
Both Thailand and Korea praise that you are a flawless price. How do you feel about that?
I feel shy (laughs). That’s not true, I’m not a prince. I’m just an ordinary boy that tries hardest in everything he does and tries to take care of people around him. I’m a human being not without fault and I try my best to show my appreciation towards other people. Of course I have to thank everyone who puts me at this level.
Say something to your fans.
Today the fans couldn’t come into the press conference so we can’t see each other. We can meet next time because I’m coming again next week. For Korean fans, we’ll see each other tomorrow (laughs).
If your life is like a car, where is the destination his year?
That’s a hard question (laughs). Where should I start? Maybe Bangkok (laughs)? If I’m a car I can say that the engine is turned on but I don’t have enough fuel. My first stop is to fill up the tank. I still have many things to complete in this year and I’ll try to collect as much experience as I can. Also, apart from the Thai CFs that many have seen, I’ll have a film released this year. It’s like my first step as an actor. Every time I have to answer this kind of question I’d say I’m only at the beginning. There are plenty of things I haven’t encountered. Every day is like a beginning of the next day (smiles).

Even when 2PM’s Nichkhun does not have any domestic activities, the potential of selling out manufactured goods he has sponsored can be seen.
Fashion glasses shop, Look Optical, who broadcasted a CF with Nichkhun as the model and released the ‘Elcid Star’ at the same time, has sold more than 600 each day out of the 70 domestic Look Optical shops, even producing 20,000 more just last week. Since its release, it has created a total profit of 370-million won (~$330,000).
‘Elcid Star’ is the upgrade model of Look Optical’s popular glasses last year ‘Elcid’, has the design factors of the square shape preferred by the younger generation recently, as well as a variety of colours on the sides of the glasses, thus making it very fashionable. More than the existing horn-rimmed glasses, the size and weight are reduced, making it much more wearable. The increased flexibility that makes it harder to break is the unique characteristic. The price of the product is 18500 won (~$17).
A Look Optical representative has said, “Recently, the new popular product ‘Elcid Star”s great design for the younger generation, a reasonable price, and high quality has been receiving explosive response from the customers.”
Meanwhile, 2PM has done an Asia World Tour in 7 months, going to Japan, China, etc. On the 11th, 2PM’s Chansung revealed his thoughts on the tour on his twitter “The 7-month Hands Up Asia Tour is finished! It was a time where I learned a lot, and although it’s regretful to end it just like that, since it ended successfully, I feel happy.”

2PM's Nichkhun has expressed his interest in being in an action movie.
On the episode of SBS "Midnight Entertainment TV" on the 22nd, Nichkhun was featured and asked to describe "When I think I look the best". He said "I think that I don't look good in the morning just as I wake up because my face swells and I have acne problems. But when I see photos of myself on stage, I think "Oh, I look like this" and am happy."
He was also asked which part of his appearance he likes the most, to which he answered "I think my eyes. You can't lie through your eyes. By looking at one's eyes you can tell what type of person they are. I think eyes are the most important"
To questions about Korea's film industry, he said "I've received scripts and even practiced but there have been times when I wasn't good enough to be casted. It was pretty upsetting". He then went on to say "I want to try action films."
Lastly Nichkhun said "I am not a person who can speak 5 languages. I can only speak three. Thai, English, Korean are the three" and he exaggerated that he is incapable of speaking 5.
Also, in this interview along with Nichkhun, Ahn Sunggi, Park Jeunghoon, and f(x)'s Sulli were also featured.

The columnist of Daily News praised the Thai member of South Korean boy group 2PM.
Read the article below.
Previously, I had many chances to interview many Korean Artists. I knew how Korean staff working. They are strick and have pattern of their job. It might be too much sometimes in Thai view.
But their system that sometimes too strick made the outcome turn out great. Always have a good standard not just randomly. In the part of artist supervision. As I know , they won’t let their artists just go around as they wish. So, chance to meet the artist is very low. This strategy is good.
Since I met many Korean staffs and artists. There are a big gap from Thai people. They might be not too friendly. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable. But, one thing to be pound of is the Thai Nichkhun Horvejkul, an intenational famous artist from 2PM, one of the most famous bands from Korea. Not only he made Thailand to be known, he also made Korean honor Thai people more than they used to be.
In the pass, I know Nichkhun has a good manner, high discipline, hard working. These made all staffs honor him. The reason why other staffs and the members are good with Thai people. For example, during flood crisis, Nichkhun and the other members sent their support and donated their stuff to help the victims. (There are other artists that also sent their support to Thailand not only 2PM) and they also send supporting message through Twitter.
Recently, I had a chance to interview 2PM. They seem like really feel comfortable with Thai people. They praised Thai in a good way. They are more relax and easygoing with Thai people. I feel that they are being like this because of Nichkhun's manner and one more reason to be loved by their fans.

Wooyoung×Nichkhun
Nichkhun and Wooyoung think deeply and listen well to each other in an amiable atmosphere…
--- To your mind, which part of Nichkhun’s or Wooyoung’s personality have changed the most since your debut?
NK: Wooyoung has become very mature. Originally, he was such a constrained man. He used to relay his ideas and opinions to me in secret, but now he can share his ideas with everyone else. He gave up a lot of things because of the fear and anxiety he had, but he can now overcome those feelings since he had a lot of practice, I think.
WY: Exactly! I am now trying to get rid of my fears, and also trying to have various kinds of talks with the other members. You really are watching over me, Nichkhun.
NK: Yes, I think that’s because I am a bit older than you. LOL
WY: Nichkhun has always been my role model as a big brother. His warm heart and kindness never changes.
--- When did you feel Nichkhun’s kindness the most?
WY: There’ve been a lot of moments…
NK: Hahaha.
WY: Ah! This was when we were having dinner with the other members right after the first concert. As always I was anxious thinking how I am lacking in many ways in comparison to other members, because I had only 3~4 months of training before debut. So, I told them I was sorry for the lack of me abilities. Nichkhun embraced me tight and said “What are you talking about? No one thinks like that.”
NK: I can’t remember though? LOL
WY: Yeah, I was so touched I cried that day.
---Nichkhun, in what way do you find Wooyoung cute?
NK: Wooyoung is always cute. LOL He makes the members smile and relax, when they are feeling blue or irritated. Wooyoung is just too cute.
WY: Do I really do that? LOL
NK: Yeah, always~.
--- In your opinion, what kind of lady would match Nichkhun/ Wooyoung?
WY: First of all, she has to have a good character. She has to be honest, kind and understanding ofNichkhun’s job and dream.
NK: Thank you! For Wooyoung, I think someone who can amuse him would be good because he makes others laugh all the time. A girl who is honest, has her own opinion, and can carry out many kinds of conversations with him, just like a friend.
WY: *claps*
--- Lastly, if you were to give a present for Nichkhun/ Wooyoung, what would you get for him?
WY: What should I get?
NK: Hmm…I think the thing I would like to give Wooyoung is time. It would be nice if he could use the time to reflect upon himself or let his body rest for a while.
WY: I want to give Nichkhun the world’s best piano.
NK: That’s very expensive~. I should’ve worked harder on my piano lessons when I was little.
WY: But if you had worked very hard and became a pianist, you wouldn’t have become a member of 2PM. So that’s good you didn’t work hard on it!
NK: *claps*
WY: That’s the fate!
