Actor Jung Il Woo made his first visit in Myanmar!

On February 22nd, the actor visited Myanmar as a part of a promotion of a cosmetic brand that he advertises. He received a cordial welcome from enthusiastic local fans and also those who hail from neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Jung Il Woo became the first Korean star to visit Myanmar. The event was initially supposed to be a fan signing, but to commemorate the first visit, he decided to take photos with each of the specially selected audience members at Western Park Royal in Yangon.

A local official said, “Jung Il Woo is the first Korean star to visit Myanmar. It was hard to even just keep walking because of so many fans. We felt thankful for the care that Jung showed for the local fans.”

Jung Il Woo took some time off from acting to attend the Korea-Japan Diplomacy Festival on Sunday in Tokyo. At the fourth annual diplomacy event hosted by the nonprofit Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Association, the Hallyu actor took some time to bond with his Japanese fans.

While attendees were treated to performances of theme songs from Korean dramas by the Japanese chamber orchestra Baradan, the crowd cheered loudest when Jung appeared on stage.

Jung performed “Someone Like You” from the soundtrack of tvN’s drama “Flower Boy Ramen Shop” as well as the song “Scarecrow” from “49 Days.” He starred in both dramas last year.

The actor also touched on his role in the megahit “The Moon Embracing the Sun,” saying how surprised he was at the high ratings the show earned.

“It was truly an honor to star in the drama, and I’d just like to extend a thank-you to the staff, the director of the show and all of the fans.”

After his speech, a special auction took place where items donated by the actor were sold off at high prices.

The four ladies of SISTAR, who are currently preparing for their comeback, have been selected as the new models for cosmetic brand ‘Holika Holika’. SISTAR will be working along actor Jung Il Woo as the new brand’s representatives.

On April 10th, a representative of Holika Holika explained that they have selected SISTAR for their youthful and confident image.

“We believe that they will appeal to our targeted group of young women. Just as much as SISTAR's interest in Holika Holika, we imagine that they will well suit the brand. We are really looking forward to the collaboration.”

Actor Jung Il Woo will be the main attraction at this year’s fourth annual Japan-Korea Friendship Festival on April 8, headed by the nonprofit corporate body Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Association.

The star from the hit MBC drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun” is currently decorating the organization’s Web site, which is promoting the event ahead of the date.

Other entertainers to attend the festival will be the groups Monday Kiz and the Japanese string orchestra Baradan. The two will perform theme songs from Hallyu dramas together.

The Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Association was founded in 2008, and its event takes place every April. The theme for each year has always been based on Hallyu period dramas, and previous guests have included actors Choi Sujong and Song Il Kook.

Meanwhile, Jung Il Woo was in Japan earlier this year on February 3 to promote the drama “49 Days.” Jung starred in the drama last year and attended a fan meeting for the show alongside co-stars Jo Hyun Jae and Nam Gyuri.

Actor Jung Il Woo shares that he is still friends with Sandara Park from 2ne1. On the latest episode of MBC  Section TV's Entertainment report, the actor from "The Moon that that embraces the sun" shared his story on how he came to know Dara from 2ne1.

He shared, "I knew Sandara Park from Return of Iljimae, recently she texted me saying that she watches my drama and that she enjoyed watching it and I replied saying thanks and offering her to have a meal with me in the future if she's free".

Also, He shared that he is a fan of Eunjung from T-ara and that he likes "Lovey Dovey" a lot and gave a video message to Eunjung.

Currently receiving much attention for appearing on MBC’s "The Sun and the Moon," actor Jung Il Woo has been selected as the new model for cosmetic company Enprani as well as its other brand Holika Holika.

The company usually only hired female models, but Jung Il Woo was chosen for his soft and well-mannered image as well as his clean skin. An Enprani representative stated, "Jung Il Woo has a soft gentleman image. We believe that the popularity for 'The Sun and the Moon' will not go away anytime soon, we are anticipating that Jung Il Woo will do a lot for our brands."

Meanwhile, Jung Il Woo will begin shooting for the company in March, following the completion of MBC’s The Sun and the Moon.
