Girl’s Generation’s first ever sub-unit, TaeTiSeo, finally made their debut with first mini album “Twinkle”. And just as everyone had expected, the album dominated local music charts, as well as landed on prominent spots on the iTunes music charts.
On May 4th, TaeTiSeo - comprised of Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun, kicked off their much-anticipated debut performance on KBS ‘Music Bank’ and performed their title track “Twinkle”.
Although many fans wished that there were more members of Girl’s Generation in TaeTiSeo, many fans were pleased by the grouping of three vocal powerhouses of Girl’s Generation.
Shinhwa has congratulated Girls’ Generation’s sub unit TaeTiseo on their debut.
On May 3rd, Shinhwa’s Minwoo shared the group photo above and wrote, “Shinhwa love, TTS love~ Please give TTS lots and lots of love ^^ So cool! Shinhwa’s will be having last stages this week. We’re sad, but we’ll be back.”
In the photo, the members of Shinhwa proudly held up TaeTiSeo’s signed album and gathered around the girls as they smiled for the camera.

According to the Hanteo Chart on March 3rd (which tabulates the amount of album sales), TaeTiSeo’s first mini album sales reached number one for the day of March 2 and also the real-time album sales.
TaeTiSeo’s “Twinkle” continues to dominate the charts, maintaining #1 on the daily chart of Mnet, Bugs, Olleh Music, Naver Music and other various online music charts.
In addition, “Twinkle” took over various Billboard’s charts. The single debuted #1 on Billboard’s World Album chart, #2 on Heatseekers Album, #21 on Independent Album and #126 on the Billboard Top 200.
Meanwhile, TaeTiSeo kicked off their first debut stage tonight on Mnet’s M! Countdown.
After an overwhelming sweep on Korean music charts, Girls’ Generation’s sub unit TaeTiSeo’s explosive popularity made its way to Billboard charts.
According to Billboard, TaeTiSeo’s debut single “Twinkle” climbed atop of Billboard’s World Album chart and ranked #2 on Heatseekers Album chart. The single has debuted at #21 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart as well.
More notably, TaeTiSeo’s “Twinkle” debuted at #126 on the Billboard Top 200, the highest rank by Korean artist and non-English track.
In K-Pop history, BoA previously ranked at #127 on the Billboard Top 200 while Big Bang’s ‘Alive’ was at #150. Girls’ Generation - TaeTiSeo has written another new record, ranking the highest among K-Pop artists.

On May 3rd, through its official twitter account Mnet’s ‘M!Countdown’ tweeted, “We’ve been waiting for a while~ Girls’ Generation special unit TaeTiSeo’s first performance! Finally, they will be unveiled for the first time on ‘M! Countdown’ at 6pm in the evening today.” Along with the tweets, a few photos of the Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun were posted.
During today’s recording session for ‘M!Countdown’, the girls were spotted in black and purple costumes and making cute poses while having their pictures taken. In the pictures revealed, Tiffany was seen with her long orange hair tied-up neatly, Taeyeon with her brownish-blonde wavy hair and maknae Seohyun with her innocent look.
Fans who saw the photos commented, “I’m really looking forward to their performances”, “The songs are really awesome! All of them are pretty!”, “Can’t wait to see them on stage! TaeTiSeo Jjang”, etc.
On today’s ‘M!Countdown’, TaeTiSeo will be performing the title song ‘Twinkle’ along with ‘Baby Steps’, which is also a song included in the newly released mini album.

On the April 28th episode of MBC‘s ‘Music Core’, the show suffered an audio mix-up accident. During the show, the audio from Noel’s performance of “Leaving” was played while Sunny Hill was shown to be performing onstage for “Is the White Horse Coming”.
Producers of the show have finally issued an official apology regarding the incident. Through the official homepage, producers wrote, “Hello, we’d like to ask for your generous understanding for the audio accident that occurred during Sunny Hill’s performance. We’ll make sure that ‘Show! Music Core’ will work harder so that such incidents never occur again in the future. Thank You.”
Also, during the broadcast, the show’s MC Seohyun apologized, “We have experienced some technical difficulties.” Taeyeon then joked “Thankfully, I got through my performance okay.”

The mini-album rose to #2 on the iTunes Pop album chart in the US store, and peaked at #4 in the overall album chart, just behind world-renowned and 6-time Grammy award winning artist Adele and her album “21″, which won Album of the Year in early 2012. Girls’ Generation set yet another record as the highest ranking Korean artist on the iTunes album charts.

“Baby Steps” is a medium tempo groove and refined R&B style song that tells the sad story of a timid girl who gathers her courage together for the man she admires. “OMG” is an electronic retro pop song that delivers its unique beat through the collaboration of vintage and latest trend. “Love Sick” is a song that describes the beautiful expression of a shy girl who falls in love for the first time and “Goodbye, Hello” will be a song with an upbeat shuffle rhythm that describes the post-separation feeling of a girl who still could not believe that her relationship has ended.
