Ryu Si Won, who is on the verge of a
high-profile divorce, has canceled his Japanese tour. Ryu made the announcement on his Japanese Web site JP Prince, asserting that the “2012 Spring Waltz with Ryu Si Won” could not go on as scheduled due to conflicting filming commitments.
“We are sorry to make the announcement and ask for your understanding,” Ryu’s agency said.
The tour was set to follow the theme of the drama on which Ryu is currently working. Yet despite the official statement, fans are speculating about whether Ryu’s personal life was the real reason for the tour’s cancellation.
“Our stance is that through mature dialogue and understanding, divorce may not be imminent. As Ryu loves his daughter so much, he is currently doing all that he can to keep his family together,” Ryu’s representative said on the star’s official Japanese Web site after news of Ryu’s possible divorce broke on April 9.

Actor Ryu Si Won put on a brave face as he returned to the set of his new drama, “Goodbye My Wife” on April 11.
Although filming at Paju in Gyeonggi was originally set for April 9, the date was pushed back when news of the Hallyu actor’s divorce surfaced on the day.
“Ryu seems a bit unsettled, but despite his personal life, he maintained his professionalism while filming,” said a representative from the drama series.
On April 9, Ryu’s
crumbling marriage was brought to the public’s attention. “The divorce application was filed on March 22, but no date for the case has been set yet,” said a source from the local channel.
Then on the following day, an attorney for Ryu’s wife appeared on SBS’s “Good Morning,” and said that his client Jo Soo-in was
demanding full-custody and didn’t want to reveal the reason “as a sign of respect to her former partner.” The couple wed in 2010 and Jo filed for divorce after 18 months and one child later.
Meanwhile, Ryu’s agency maintained that Ryu was trying his best to keep his family together and to avoid divorce for the sake of his young daughter.

Just a day after Hallyu actor Ryu Si Won’s
pending divorce was made public, on April 10, an attorney for Ryu’s wife has spoken about the terms that the former wife wants as well as other details.
“For the reason for the divorce, Jo Soo-in decided to leave it blank, as a sign of respect toward her celebrity former spouse. The speculation that she asked for the divorce because he is a drag racer is untrue,” said the attorney.
“As a mother, of course she believes that custody of the couple’s child should remain with her. Thus she has asked for full custody, this is the condition that she prized above all else.”
The lawyer also said that it is possible that the couple may come to an agreement that suits both parties, “depending on how Ryu reacts.”
The former wife of the entertainer is currently residing with her parents and the couple’s daughter.

Hong Soo Hyun have attended the first script reading for the upcoming
Channel A's new drama "
Goodbye Wife."
On March 28, the show's promoter,
Bliss Media revealed a photo of the two stars at the first script reading. A representative stated, "Both Ryu and Hong seemed enthusiastic during the first reading and they had a great connection. The pair looked like an actual married couple."
"Goodbye Wife" is a romantic comedy about the relationship rights between married couples who need romance. The key role would be that of Cha Seung Hyuk (Ryu SiWon) who dreams of 'romance again' with his first love and boldly says goodbye to his wife, and Kang Sun Ah (Hong Soo Hyun) who has the reins to her husband but is tired of trying to restrain him.
The drama is set to hit airwaves on May 7.

Ryu SiWon, who dabbles in acting and singing as well as car racing from time-to-time, again showed the reason for his popularity by managing to meet with more than 5,000 fans in just one day.
Ryu kicked off the day on March 24 in at Asia and Pacific Trade Center in Osaka with a launching event to mark the releases of his 13th single and title track “
The Place Where We Met” as well as his DVD “
Negai -- Ryu Siwon Live Tour 2011.” The single was released on March 21, marking nine years since Ryu made his debut in Japan. The single reached the sixth spot on the Oricon daily singles charts on the day of its release.
At the launching event where 3,000 fans were in attendance, Ryu revealed to fans about how the 2010 suicide of a close friend and celebrity,
Park Yongha, lead to him penning the title track of the album. Fans were touched and many shed tears as they took in the story.
After the completion of the event, Ryu made his way to the NHK Hall in the city where he met with a chosen group of 2,000 fans selected from his Japanese fan club. The event was free-of-charge for those lucky enough to secure a seat. The fan-meet was originally slated to take place last year but postponed in light of the suffering caused by the Japanese threefold disaster.

Former g.o.d member Danny Ahn will playing Ryu SiWon's best friend in Channel A's new drama "Goodbye Dear Wife".
Danny Ahn will take on the role of Gye Dong Hee, Cha Seung Hyuk's (played by Ryu SiWon) trainer but is now a manager. He makes a lot of trouble and is always fighting with Seung Hyuk but when time calls for being serious, he changes to become a reliable right hand man.
"Goodbye Dear Wife" is a romantic comedy about a man who dreams of love again with his first love and asks for a divorce from his wife who is smart and has him by the reins.
Ryu SiWon and Hong Soo Hyun will be playing the married couple.
Adding to the fun of the drama with his personalized character, Danny Ahn's "Goodbye Dear Wife" will be aired on the 7th of May.

Hallyu star Ryu Si Won (40) is coming back for the first time in 3 years as a thoughtless husband.
Promoter Bliss Media revealed that Ryu Si Won has been casted to play the main character of upcoming Channel A drama "Goodbye Wife (Goodbye Manool)". He will take on the role of former kickboxing champion and current famous sports center CEO Cha Seung Hyuk. On their 5 years of marriage, he is sick and tired of the married life, and only sustaining such life based on his loyalty to the wife rather than romance.
The production said, "It would interesting to see Ryu Si Won change his style of acting for the first time unlike his gentleman-like image he's been pursuing all these years".
Ryu Si Won's appearance in a drama is the first time in 3 years since 2009 SBS drama "Style".
"Goodbye Wife" is a romantic comedy about a thoughtless husband who dreams of reuniting with his first lover and a wife who gets confused as her long time lover who dumped her returns. The show will air on channel A on May 7.
