Kim Hyungjun showcased his acting skills in the drama "My Shining Girl" and "Late Blossom". Now, he will be a part of MBC weekend drama "I Summon You, Gold" as Mongkyu, Han Jihye's younger brother. Monkyu plays the of role of a smart person who wants to be independent from his parents after graduating college.
"I Summon You, Gold" has already confirmed Han Jihye, Lee Taesung, Lee Sookyung and Na Munhee's appearance in the drama which is expected to air on April 6 following the end of "Rascal Sons."
MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ will be joining the rest of the music programs by reviving its weekly music ranking.
According to the broadcasting company, ‘Show! Music Core’ has decided to revive the ranking system starting from the broadcast on the first week of April. It has been seven years since the show abolished its ranking service in 2006.
Recently, SBS ‘Inkigayo’ also decided to bring back the ranking segment for the music program after cancelling it last July 2012.
Meanwhile, KBS’ ‘Music Bank’ has never canceled their ranking service.
Korean broadcasting station, MBC, will be broadcasting a documentary on Super Junior.
On April 27th at 11:15PM KST, MBC will air the “Super Junior - Dreams of K-Pop Legend”, a documentary program featuring the boys of Super Junior.
The Super Junior documentary is expected to showcase the activeness of K-Pop and its growing popularity. It will feature Super Junior’s performances filled with laughter and tears in front of over 7,000 fans in the Le Zenith de Paris, France.
Super Junior is currently on their world tour and will be performing in Indonesia and Japan. The group will also be performing an encore concert in Seoul on May 26th and 27th.

MBC variety show "Infinite Challenge" celebrates it's 7th year anniversary this year. On the 24th of April, The PD of the show updated his twitter and said, "It has been seven years since Infinite Challenge was started and it quietly passed, The atmosphere now is very different and it quietly passed, I will hope for the best".
Infinite Challenge made its first episode on April 23 in 2005 and this April 23 it marked it's 7th anniversary however the celebration for this is a quiet one and it passed quietly as well because the show has been airing re-runs for weeks due to the MBC Labor union strike. It has been 12 week's since the show has been idle and aired re-runs and despite this bad news, it's loyal fans still give their congratulations to the show and said, "Congratulations on your 7th year anniversary Infinite Challenge", "It has been seven years already and it passed by this quiet?", "I really miss Infinite Challenge so much", "I hope they will have a better celebration on their 8th year anniversary".

MBC variety show "Infinite Challenge" has broke its previous record and now has a new record of 10 weeks hiatus in regular airing of its show. The show started airing re runs last 30th of January because of the ongoing MBC union strike and the show is one of the shows that is most badly affected.
Fans started to complain and experienced withdrawal symptoms from the show, the show loses revenue and also viewer ratings but it still continues on it's long-term break. Also, the members and staff of the show decided to upload a video on youtube which caught the attention of netizens. Netizens commented, "This is such a hard time for the show", "The video is very sad, I hope they will be back soon", "Please come back soon", "I hope the strike will be resolved soon so this will be over".

That's right. MBC will be broadcasting SM Town Live in Tokyo this coming April 9 at 11:15 pm KST. SM Town Live in Tokyo Dome was held last September last year and MBC will be featuring 90 minutes airplay of the concert. The concert includes an elite group of artists including SNSD, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee and etc.
A lot of fans has been requesting that the concert will be aired in Korea especially for those who were not able to watch the concert and their wish has been granted. They will not only be airing the concert performances but also show some behind the scenes and special performances.

MBC "Infinite Challenge" is receiving the most backlash with the ongoing strike by the labor union in MBC and it's viewers are becoming depressed and impatient. For seven consecutive weeks the show has not aired a new episode and has been airing special re-run broadcasts causing much impatience from fans.
Viewers have been posting complaints on the show's official bulletin and site complaining that they are becoming impatient and sad that there has been no new episode of the show. Due to the ongoing strike on broadcast station MBC, various shows have been affected and one of these shows is "We Got Married", for several weeks now, the show has been airing special broadcast which has disappointed fans.
However, MBC is glad to announce that there has been arrangements made and "We Got Married" will be resuming normal broadcast of new episodes starting this 3rd of March. Due to the strike, the various shows of MBC have been having difficulty looking for a crew which caused hindrances to shows like "Infinite Challenge", "Golden Fishery - Radio Star", "Rockman" and "I am a Singer".
Along with the angry fans sending their complaints with their shows airing special broadcasts instead of new episodes week by week, MBC has been strained to resolve the situation as fast as possible. Fortunately, We Got Married will be experiencing no more problems and air new episodes starting this March 3.

MBC variety show "Infinite Challenge" suffers huge downfall from fans as an aftermath of the ongoing strike on MBC. The show has now missed 4 week's of regular broadcast and fans are not too happy about this.
On the 25th of February, Infinite Challenged aired a special broadcast once again and this is the 4th consecutive week that the show has been airing special broadcast which is due to the staff of MBC who are on strike.
Fans are now not pleased with this and are having withdrawal symptoms on the show, loyal viewers of the show are getting impatient and are posting their complaints through various social networking sites. Netizens commented, "I wonder when the show will broadcast a new episode", "My Saturday's are now becoming dull", "This is really sad, Im starting to have withdrawal symptoms on the show". However, there are still no signs for progress on the issue of Strike and it looks like this will go on for quite some time still.

Actor Song Seung Hun and JYJ's Kim Jaejoong recently been selected as male leads in the upcoming Japanese manga-based drama "Time Slip Dr. Jin." According to the show's producer, Lee Kim Productions, the drama will air on one of the three major networks SBS, KBS or MBC.
On February 23, the drama has been decided to be produced by MBC. According to an insider at the network, "It has pretty much been decided that MBC will produce ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin.’ I believe they are currently in the middle of working out the fine details."
"Time Slip Dr. Jin" is based on the popular Japanese manga series by Murakami Motoka and was previously made into a drama of the same name which aired in Japan on TBS in 2009 and made a huge hit.
In the drama, Song Seung Hun will be playing the main role of a genuis yet cold-hearted doctor who was born into a doctor's family. Through magical powers, he can transcends time and space. He travels back to the Chosun Dynasty in 1860 and starts developing medicines to save people. While Kim Jaejoong will be playing a military officer and fateful rival to Dr. Jin Hyuk (played by Song Seung Hun), who came from the Joseon Dynasty.

Due to the strike by the MBC Labor union, it has disrupted broadcast schedule and for the 4th of February, "We got married" and "Infinite Challenge" will not be airing this week's episode instead will be replaced by a special broadcast, however "I am a singer" will continue with it's normal schedule.
Also, "Star Audition: The great birth" showed a re-run instead of the expected episode which fans were looking forward to due to the strike. Due to this strike, the show garnered a low viewer rating of 7.5% only which was already expected by the officials.
The MBC Labor union strike started last month and the reporters and production staff have boycott meetings and shoots which has resulted to broadcasting problems.

A union strike has led to the cancellation of hit variety shows on the MBC network. The media company regretfully announced on Jan. 31 that following the protest of some 500 workers on Jan. 30 flagship programs due to air over the weekend of Feb. 4 and 5, such as “We Got Married,” “Infinite Challenge,” “The Great Birth” and “I Am a Singer,” will not air. Instead, re-runs of special edition shows will be broadcast. However, programs that are outsourced to external production companies will be aired as scheduled.
The strike, orchestrated by the MBC labor union, is calling for the resignation of the network’s current president Kim Jae-chul. “We are calling for an end to distorted news coverage that is currently taking place at MBC under Kim Jae-chul’s leadership. We won’t stop until justice and impartiality is restored to our programs. Until then, we ask the viewers to support us in our endeavor,” said a representative from the union.
There was also a protest when Kim was nominated for the presidency back in May of 2010. Kim is thought to be a puppet of President Lee Myung-bak which has resulted in biased news reports. “We have a duty to serve the public through maintaining neutrality in our news programs,” said the union representative. Through the protest, it is hoped that Kim will step down from the leadership position.
Meanwhile in Seoul, a photo exhibition of the show “Infinite Challenge” has attracted some 243,000 visitors to Lotte Mall in Gimpo International Airport since it was unveiled on Dec. 22. The exhibition ended on Jan. 15 and MBC said that it did not expect such a large number of visitors.

Infinite Challenge has once again suffered a decline in viewer ratings. For the 21st of January, their viewer rating was 17.3% which was a decline from their 14th of January ratings which was 17.9%. This was a continuous decline with their rating 2 weeks ago 20.6%.
However despite their viewer ratings on a decline, they are still the number 1 show for the saturday weekend. SBS Star King managed to only get 11.3% viewer rating and KBS "Immortal song 2" fell to 9.4% in viewer rating.

MBC Entertainment program "Infinity Challenge" has achieved an all kill for viewer rating. On the 7th of January broadcast of their show, they received 20.6% viewer rating from AGB media research. That is their highest viewer rating since 2008 when their September 20, 2008 episode achieved a 20.1% viewer rating.
The show has been a hit since and received the highest viewer rating compared to its competitors. A special episode was held where they ranked the best parodies they did on the show.
Meanwhile, other shows from other networks on the same time from SBS and KBS received 11.9% and 7.9% viewer rating respectively.

On Jan. 2, KBS presented its business plans and revealed that the network will work hard to become a top exporter of Korean music worldwide.
The first plan announced by a representative at the “One Korea, Global KBS” conference said that the music-chart show “Music Bank” will go on a world tour. The program will visit nations such as France in February, Hong Kong in May and the United States in September this year in order to promote K-pop. The show is currently broadcast in 72 nations through the KBS World channel and is a prominent figure in promoting K-pop.
The second plan the network had for enhancing the influence of Korean music involved the establishment of a Chinese channel with a focus on Hallyu content.
The network said that in July, a Chinese channel will air and will be made possible for viewing by audiences in Hong Kong, Malaysia and other Chinese-speaking nations.
On the same day, the MBC network also announced that it will open up an exclusive music channel on Feb. 1. The channel called “MBC Music” will operate under the slogan “I Music U” which carries the meaning that “you and I can relate through music.” The network has plans to export the channel to foreign nations. The network has plans to air the channel in the United States through the American satellite TV channel Direct TV.

IU appeared as a guest on MBC FM "Son Suk Hee's Spotlight"'s "Saturday encounter" corner of the show, which will be broadcast on Dec 24th at 7 AM KST (News article says 7.15 AM, but LOEN says 7 AM).
Following the recent release of the 2nd album, 'Last Fantasy', IU has been busy with promotional activities but she will be the first idol to go on a mainstream radio current events program.
The production crew for "Son Suk Hee's Spotlight" expressed, "For the past year, we have mainly covered heavy and solid issues, but it seems today's atmosphere was bright and comfortable" and "in particular, we invited IU with the intention to prepare a pre-Christmas gift for our listeners who have been exhausted from their various occupations in the past year."
The host of the show, Prof Son Suk Hee also said, "I'm no longer an uncle fan, but almost an eldest uncle fan," as he welcomed IU.
Previously, "Son Suk Hee's Spotlight"'s "Saturday encounter" has invited senior actor Shin Young Gyun, Yoon Jeong Hee, veteran actor Kim Hye Su, comedian Gu Bong Seo, Singer Park Jung Hyun and other various prominent social figures onto the show to share their life stories.

One of the most prestigous year-end festival, MBC Korean Music Festival (Gayo Daejun), has announced the date and lineup for the event.
2011 MBC Korean Music Festival is set to take place on New Year's Eve, December 31st with amazing lineup filled with top K-Pop idols including, Girls' Generation, Super Junior, TVXQ, SHINee, IU, T-ara, KARA, 2PM, miss A, Wonder Girls, CNBLUE, B2ST, MBLAQ, INFINITE, u-KISS, 4minute, G.NA, SISTAR, SECRET, Brown Eyed Girls, f(x), Davichi, After School, Rainbow, A Pink, Girl's Day, Dal Shabet, FT Island, Teen Top, B1A4, Boyfriend, Norazo, K.Will and MBC Star Audition's Baek Chungkang, Kwon Risae and David Oh.
MBC also announced that the official MCs for the music festival will be four "We Got Married" couples including, 2PM's Nichkhun and f(x)'s Victoria (Khuntoria Couple), Super Junior's Leeteuk and actress Kang Sora (TeukSo Couple), Lee Jangwoo and T-ara's Eunjeung (WooJung Couple), and 2AM's Jokwon and Brown Eyed Girls' Gain (Adam Couple).
The music festival will be broadcasted online to allow international fans to participate in the festivities.
