The boys of FT Island excited their fans and local music lovers by announcing the release date of their upcoming Japanese album.

FNC Music Japan announced that FT Island will be releasing their third Japanese full length album. Titled ‘RATED-FT’, the new album will hit stores on June 5th, over a year since releasing their previous Japanese album, ‘20[Twenty].’

‘RATED-FT’ will be available in three different versions including two limited CD+DVD types, as well as a CD-only version.

In related news, FT Island recently released their new Japanese single ‘You Are My Life’ and managed to rank No.4 at the Oricon’s Daily chart.

With their Beijing concert just around the corner, FT Island members sent their warm greetings to their Chinese fans.

FT Island posted on their official Weibo account, “How is everyone doing? For those curious as to what we have been up to lately, we prepared several photos. We are working hard learning Mandarin for our Beijing performance so everyone please wait patiently for us.”

Attached the post were several photos of the FT Island members holding papers that read “Hello” in Mandarin. The group had been studying hard in Mandarin in order to communicate better with their fans.

Member Song Seung Hyun especially is much anticipated by fans as it is widely known that he has been learning Mandarin for a long time. During their concert in Taiwan last December, he surprised many fans by answering a number of questions in fluent Mandarin.

K-Pop groups have secured hearts of music fans in Japan with their latest records’ sales scoring big on Oricon’s music charts.

According to Oricon’s chart rankings on March 27, Supernova’s new Japanese single album ‘I Want to Hug You’ nabbed the No.2 position after selling 39,656 copies on the day of its release. The group was followed by KARA’s 8th single album ‘Bye Bye Happy Days’ at No.3 with 25552 units sold.

FT Island also proved their popularity in the music scene in Japan with their new single ‘You Are My Life’ ranked No.4 on the same chart, while Boyfriend’s third Japanese single “Melody of the Eyes” placed at No.5.

FT Island successfully finished their official fan meeting in Tokyo.

On March 17, the band flew directly to Japan from Thailand and held a large-scale fan meeting with 10,000 fans at Japan’s Tokyo International Forum Hall A. FT Island also previewed its upcoming track “You Are My Life”, which will be released on March 27th.

During the fan meeting, they performed 10 songs, including “COMPASS”, “YUKI”, “Beautiful World” and “Beloved”, and the audience gave them great cheers. In addition, fans also surprised the members with a special event, singing happy birthday for Lee Hongki and Choi Jong Hoon, whose birthdays were on March 2nd and 7th.

FT Island also announced their arena tour in Japan, which will take place in June and July. They plan to make stops in Nagano and Shizuoka for the first time ever, as well as Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Miyaki.

Lee Hongki said, “We are planning to show some more rock during the new tour. It will be a great show for summer. We are also very excited because we will make our first visit to Nagano and Shizuoka, and we hope to make a show that everybody will enjoy.”

As previously reported, FNC Entertainment is releasing its company’s first magazine ‘The FNC’. The magazine will feature its artists such as CNBLUE, FT Island, AOA and Juniel, and will contain interviews and photoshoots from all the FNC Entertainment celebrities.

FT Island dominated the DVD charts in Taiwan and Japan with a concert DVD for its concert in Korea.

The group’s concert DVD ‘2012 TAKE FTISLAND IN SEOUL’ topped Taiwan’s ‘G-Music’ audio and video charts as well as 5 Music’s weekly chart. The same DVD also managed to top various charts in Japan, proving their popularity.

‘2012 TAKE FTISLAND IN SEOUL’ concert DVD includes highlights from FT Island’s concert in Seoul that took place from September 1-2, 2012.

Meanwhile, the group will be releasing its 10th Japanese single album ‘You Are My Life’ on March 27.

On April 28th, MBC finally broadcasted the previous “2012 Korean Music Wave Concert in Bangkok”, which was held on April 7th in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was hosted by 2PM’s Nichkhun, and Girls’ Generation members Tiffany and Taeyeon.

Ahead of their upcoming summer tour in Japan, FT Island will be releasing their second Japanese regular album “20 [twenty]” on May 16th. Prior to its official release, the boys revealed the full PV for title track “Stay”.

A charity photo exhibition featuring K-pop stars is being held in Bangkok from April 26 until May 20. Featured stars include T-ara, Secret, 4Minute, Nine Muses, FT Island and ZE:A.

The event entitled “Korea Big Star Photo Exhibition” is a free showcase for fans and exhibits the works of photographer Kim Hyo-bum and Issue Daily’s reporter Song Jae-won.

At the exhibit, personal items belonging to the stars will also be sold for charity. Some of the items to be sold include signed CDs and outfits worn by 4Minute, Nine Muses and ZE:A.

“There is a lot of curiosity among foreign fans about K-pop stars. You will be able to catch glimpses of K-pop stars like never before,” said Kim.

On April 26th, Mnet aired the recent ‘M! Countdown Hello Japan’, the large-scale M! Countdown concert which was held at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan on April 25th. The event was co-produced by Mnet and Japan’s Space Shower TV.

The special concert was hosted by miss A’s Suzy and MBLAQ’s Lee Joon. A total of 16 teams performed in the event including Dynamic Duo, miss A, Busker Busker, SECRET, SISTAR, U-KISS, Yoon Mirae, A-Pink, MBLAQ, John Park, Supernova, Tiger JK, 4minute, FT Island, and more.

More K-Pop artists are scoring high of Japan’s Oricon Chart. According to Oricon’s website, idol group INFINITE and rock band FT Island claimed the upper tier of Oricon Daily Singles Chart.

On April 18, INFINITE released its second Japanese single, “Be Mine.” The single debuted on the second spot of the Oricon Daily Singles chart with a total of 28,192 copies sold on its first day. The single contains the Japanese version of INFINITE’s Korean hit tracks “Be Mine” and “Julia.”

FT Island is performing well on charts as well. The group’s latest Japanese single “Neverland” landed on the 8th spot of Oricon Daily Singles chart.

“Neverland” is a fast rock song composed and written by band member Choi Jonghun. The song has been chosen as the opening theme song for the Japanese anime “Ozma.”

After wrapping up promotional activities with their latest hit track, “Severely”, FT Island headed to Japan to start the promotions of their new Japanese single “Neverland.” The group also plans to embark a four city Japan tour concert this summer.

FT Island will be holding their ‘FT ISLAND Summer Tour 2012 ~ RUN! RUN! RUN!’ concert tour this summer in 4 cities including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukui, for a total of five concerts. The tour will run from June 24 to July 8.

‘FT ISLAND Summer Tour 2012 ~ RUN! RUN! RUN!’ marks FT Island’s largest concert tour ever, expecting to draw a total of 60,000 fans. hey have created a sensation in Japan ever since their major debut in 2010 and their concert tour this year is expected to draw lots of interest from the public.
