Top star Jang Dong Gun and director Heo Jin Ho are also going to the 65th Cannes International Film Festival.
“Dangerous Liaisons” by Jang Dong-gun and Heo Jin Ho has been selected for the “Directors’ Fortnight" in Cannes.
“Dangerous Relationship” was invested by the Chinese as a global project and Cecilia Cheung and Zhang Ziyi starred in it as well. Based in Shanghai in the 1930’s, this movie draws the helpless love between a man and a woman.
Prior to that, director Yeon Sang Ho’s “King of Pigs”, a Korean animation was known to be going to Cannes as well. The Director’s Log is a non competitive category and isn’t included in the competition but shows and displays movies that are good enough to achieve attention.
Other movies that are competing in the categories are Hong Sang Soo’s “In Another Country” and Lim Sang Soo’s “The Taste of Money.”
Meanwhile, the 65th Cannes International Film Festival will be held in Cannes, France next month starting on the 16th.

Hallyu actor Jang Dong Gun has become the new face of Imperial whiskey.
Pernod Ricard Korea announced on April 23 that Jang was selected to be the face of “We Never Go Alone” campaign.
“Jang is known as a team player, someone who cares for all staff members on every set of his movies. Thus in search for someone with leadership skills, we thought Jang would represent the brand well,” said a representative from the liquor company.
The other Korean star to have had been the face of Imperial brand whiskey is soccer player Park Ji Sung.
Commercials featuring Jang will air from May 7.

Top star Jang Dong Gun will make his triumphant return to the small screen after 12 years. However, the actor has met his strong rival as his new drama will be competing against popular KBS2 variety show ‘Gag Concert’, which will share 40 minutes of overlap in broadcast time.
Jang Dong Gun is starring in the new SBS weekend drama ‘A Gentleman's Dignity’ starting from the 26th of May. This is his first drama since ‘All About Eve’ 12 years ago. He will be joining forces with writer Kim Eun Sook and producer Sin Woo Cheol, who created big hits shows like ‘Secret Garden’ and ‘THE CITY HALL.’
The drama department is worried as ‘Gag Concert’ has an average of 20% and more in viewing rating. There are many sections in he TV program that are very popular. A manager jokingly stated, “Everyone is concerned about Sunday because of ‘Gag Concert’. Also, the percentage for the drama isn't going to be easy to settle down with since the comedy program is the ‘it’ thing nowadays.”

Jang Dong Gun
Seo Jae Myung, known for his spiteful tongue, is the Chief Architect and CEO of an architecture company. He has everything, with a perfect face and body. Also known for his ability in stealing women’s hearts, Seo Jae Myung enjoys getting attention from women, which explains why he has been a natural born single. The reason him being single is that he doesn’t like to share his income with his (future) wife and children.
80% of his conversation contains “stinging tongue or incendiary vicious tongue” and 20% contains “pointing out mistakes and correcting people”. Since he majored in engineering, he is addicted to analysis and statistics. He likes to figure out reason and cause and believes that he can computes the feeling of human being. But in the end he meets a woman whom he can’t really figure out.
Kim Ha Neul
36 years old Song Ye Soo is an ethics teacher in high school and she is also an umpire for an amateur adult baseball team. She is not that strict but is firm and charismatic. Also, Song Ye Soo isn’t exactly rough or mean, but she is stern and determined. She teaches her students passionately on how to respect the dignity of human beings, to upholds etiquette towards people and how to love each other. For about 3 years, she has loved Im Tae San who is in the same baseball team, but it was one-sided. Unfortunately her one-sided love is unleashed by Seo Jae Myung. So she gets nervous by that.
Kim Soo Ro
Pure-minded and macho man Im Tae San. He is the co-CEO of the architecture company and also an architect. He has a sexy body as well as a sexy brain (?!). He acts before he thinks and never regrets whatever results he gets. He is a cool yet hot and pure-minded macho guy. He has been in a relationship with cold hearted woman Sae Ra who is a friend of Ye Soo. But one day he heard thatYe Soo likes him.
Kim Min Jong
A romantic doctor Choi Yoon – an ophthalmologist. He misses his wife who passed-away 7 years ago and is oppressed with sorrow. He is the only person who acts and thinks maturely among his friends. 24 years old Im Mae A-Ri who is a sister of his friend (Im Tae San) has a crush on him. He starts to have feeling for her too.
Lee Jong Hyuk
He is Ko Young Do, owner of a coffee shop. He used to be popular among girls when he was young, even being called “Apgujeong’s Orange Jok and Kingka”. Once he got older and no longer popular, he married a rich noona and became the president of a coffee shop. After his marriage he still enjoys alcohol, girls and gambling so his wife Min Sook wanted to file a divorce. But the problem is, he should transfer his coffee shop back to her after their divorce.
Kim Min
Kim Min Sook is a 44 years old career woman and works in real estate and leasing service. She looks 10 years younger than her age and is beautiful, intelligent and rich with high education. She thinks that money works for everything. But money doesn’t solve for her problems like her husband’s love affair and that they have no child since marriage.

She flew to New York with size 88 and came back to Korea with size 44. She wanted to revenge her bitter first love to Choi Yoon. But she has strange feeling to him all of sudden.
Lee Jong Hyun
Colin is a 19-year-old Korean American student (I think the writer will change his character to Korean Japanese for Jonghyun who is fluent in Japanese). After his mother passed away, he felt betrayed by his stepfather who got married again and ran away from home to look for his real father in Korea. “One of you guys IS my father,” he said to the 4 gentlemen and lives together with them.
His weapon of charms is his purity and his tactic is smile. He is tricky, unexpected and is a 4-dimensional boy who controls the 4 gentlemen’s lives.
One day a girl comes to his life. This 19 years old boy calls her name all day, almost like the echoes in the mountain. And his first love begins like the first love of his father did.

Colin is the turning point in the middle of this drama. He will appear in the mid of drama to create problems among the 4 sets of couples. He said to the 4 gentlemen,”One of you guys IS my father”. And then they withdrew their words when they showed off that they made love with Soo Hee for endless nights.
Soo Hee is Colin’s mother and the “Madonna” of the 4 gentlemen when they were young and she was loved by those 4 gentlemen as a one-sided love.

Cecelia Cheung have expressed their admiration for the Hallyu star
Jang Dong Gun through the director
Hur Jin-ho, who worked with all three actors on the upcoming movie “
Dangereous Liaisons.”
According to the film’s director, the Chinese actresses were touched by Jang’s professionalism and compassionate heart while on the movie set.
“Jang’s determination and the fact that he took the time to learn and perfect his Chinese for the movie amazed the actors and the staff on set,” said Hur during an interview with OSEN.
The movie, starring three of the biggest names in the Asian film industry, is a remake of the French classic “Dangerous Liaisons” by Chinese and Singaporean production companies. The film has been remade five times to date. The most famous version featured Hollywood actors John Malkovich and Michelle Pfeiffer in 1988.
Meanwhile, Jang and Hur previously worked on the action movie “
Friend” in 2001. Hur was impressed by Jang from their previous work and described the actor’s new role as, “A menace and a coward,” while calling the actor “impeccable” in real life.
Jang also worked with Cheung on the Chinese movie “
The Promise” in 2005.

Actor Jang Dong Gun and actress Kim Ha Neul will star in a drama as lovers.
Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ha Neul have confirmed to star in the upcoming SBS weekend drama "A Gentleman's Dignity", which is coming this May. They have joined hands with writer Kim Eun Sook and producer Shin Woo Cheol from "Secret Garden".
"A Gentleman's Dignity" is a romantic comedy about four middle aged people who have reached their 40's but are still romantics and four women who long for romance.
Jang Dong Gun, <a href="http://allkpopnewsvideo.blogspot.com/2012/01/news-jang-dong-gun-returns-to-small.html">who is returning to TV for the first time in 12 years</a>, will be taking on the role of spiteful architecture firm manager Kim Dojin. Kim Ha Neul is not tough but determined, not bad-tempered but cool high school teacher Song Ee Soo.
Jang Dong Gun said, "The conditions were hard for me because of the Chinese movie I am filming but the crew's consideration and effort helped to put everything into place and I decided to work together with them because of trust".
Kim Ha Neul said, "I am happy to be working with writer Kim Eun Sook and producer Shin Woo Cheol from 'On Air' again".
The production announced, "Thanks to the will of the crew to create something perfect, the casting took a long time. We hope everyone's anticipation matches the effort we've put in so far".

Top actor Jang Dong-gun will be making his small screen comeback after 12 years!
According to AM Entertainment on January 31st, Jang has been confirmed to be on the cast of a new TV drama called "The Class Of Gentlemen". After the hit drama "All About Eve" in 2000, this is Jang's first TV drama.
"The Class Of Gentlemen" will be written by famed writer Kim Eun-sook, who's also the brains behind "Lovers In Paris", "Lovers In Prague", "On Air", "City Hall", and "Secret Garden". She will be teaming up with producer Shin Woo-cheol. The storyline will be about the romance men in their 40's.
The drama will also star Kim Min-jong, Kim Min, and Kim Soo-ro. The female lead has yet to be cast. "The Class Of Gentlemen" will start airing on March 5th.
